The IPA carries out its mission adhering to the following objectives:

To educate individual trustees and boards on matters that affect their institutional oversight responsibilities

To promote wider understanding of and appreciation for citizenbased leadership and lay governance as the only effective ways to ensure the quality and independence of American higher education

To advance the philosophy that all elected or appointed trustees serve in the public trust and should consider themselves trustees of higher education as a whole

To strengthen the relationship between trustees and chief executives in the fulfillment of their distinct yet complementary responsibilities

To stimulate cooperation with public-policy makers, government agencies, and private organizations that have a stake in the effective governance and quality of colleges and universities

To identify and study emerging public-policy issues of concern to higher education by providing forums for their discussion and by encouraging appropriate member initiative.



About The IPA

The International Profession Certification Association (IPA) is a global accreditation association which is also a non-profit organization. The IPA isaregistered entity in the United States. It is a professional organizationthatdeals with the certification of occupationalqualifications.

The objective of theIPA is to provide a communications platform for each member and the entire professional institute. In 1974, theIPA held its first annual meeting in Switzerland. Up to now, theIPA has heldover 21events in the world in the form of lectures, forums and seminars pertaining to the certification of various kinds of professional management.

Most IPA members are WTO members including the United States, Britain, France, Germany, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Japan, Singapore, and so on . In order to promote a general standard for certification, theIPA developed a large array of products and nowprovides many kinds of services. For example, the IPA has servicesrelating tofields such as research and development, education and training, etc. and provides a standardized system of certification.

The "Certified Professional Manager" course is a typical product that the IPA offers to the public. The objective of this accreditation is to train the professional manager to have superior management skills. This "Certified Professional Manager"certificate is granted upon passing completion of an aptitude examination which determines level of competency. The many examples of the effectiveness of IPA’s training programs have attested to its success and the IPA’s qualification process is well known throughout the world.

Many factors persuade and reveal the quality of education. TheIPA reviews the effectiveness of an institution’s educational programs by evaluating the infrastructure that supports the delivery of programs as well as educational results, including student achievement.
Eligibility:
To be eligible for IPA accreditation, an institution must be legally established and licensed by the state or government. To demonstrate financial stability, the school must have been in continuous operation for a minimum of TWO year prior to application for accreditation and have graduated at least one class of students from its longest program.
The institute should submit aSelf EvaluationReport, The SER includes questions related to all phases of an institution’s operation.

The International Profession Certification Association is a global organization for flexible learning and teaching deriving its position from: 1. the unique knowledge and experience of its members throughout the world. 2. theexpertise from this in the development and use of new methodologies and emerging technologies. An important aim of IPA is to promote intercultural co-operation and understanding through flexible learning and teaching throughout the world. Further aims are: 1.to contribute to the development of new methodologies and technologies in order to improve lifelong learning. 2. to foster international collaboration in flexible learning and teaching. 3. to support and develop networks for flexible learning and teaching at national, regional and global levels. 4. to encourage the development of good practice and standards in flexible learning and teaching.
